Charlie's Story
Charlie Turton was my grandfather. He joined the Worcestershire Regt in 1894 and fought in the Boer War and the 1st World War. He also fought with the "Whites" at Archangle whist on the reserve with the Royal Fusillers.
Memories of Grandad..
He then became a member of the Warwickshire Regt, Terratorial Army until ill-health forced him to retire in his 50's.
He served in South Africa, India, Egypt Ireland and England.
He had a large family, several brothers and sisters. He also had two sons and four daughters of his own.
