Robert Morrison was born in Falkirk. He joined the Royal Scots and served in the Camel Corps in Sudan before joining the 51st Battallion Machine Gun Corps (Inf). 2nd Lt Robert Morrison was killed in action on 11 April 1918, aged 24 years, about 60 miles north of the Somme river. His gravestone is at Cabaret-Rouge British Cemetery near Souchez, about five miles south of Lens.
His younger brother, Andrew, was also killed in action on 1 April 1916, aged 20 years, about 20 miles North of the Somme river.
