Daniel's Story

My Great Uncle Danny only wanted to be a farmer and work the land. His family owned a dairy in the Rhondda Valley in South Wales and he worked with his family. When he used to come home from leave he used a special knock to let his mother know he was home and safe. She listened for the knock and for him to come home again long after his death in Belgium in 1918. His sisters never got over his death and he is still remembered in our family today.

IP Uncle Danny.
