Harry Lenton was born in Swadlincote in 1889, married Sarah Elizabeth Pallett in October 1908 and moved to St Helens before the birth of his first child in September 1910.
He was employed in the local mines at the time of his enlistment. Aged 25yrs 8months married with 3 children he enlisted in February 1915 into 11th Battlion South Lancashire Regiment,
Service number Private 21474

Listed as killed in action 21st March 1918, two days after the birth of his 4th child, and is commemorated at Pozieres Memorial.
