Frank's Story
Frank Herbert Drury was born on 31st August 1899 at Acton, Middlesex. He was the second of two sons and one daughter for Arthur Miles and Theresa (formerly Ilsley) both of Acton, Middlesex).
Frank held the rank of Rifleman and was attested into the 15th London Regiment with Regimental Number 537157. He later transferred to 5th (City of London) Battalion (London Rifle Brigade) with Regimental Number 318424.
After a brief period of training Frank went to France where he served with his unit until he Âdied of wounds on 24th June 1918, shortly before the end of hostilities. He was awarded the British War Medal, and Victory Medal.
