Rowland's Story

He served in the British Army during WWI. He was Sgt R. Watts, in the 75 Field Ambulance Royal Army Medical Corps (Kitchiner's Army). His army career was as follows:

Joined up Lord Kitcheners Army 12 August 1914.

Went to France 22 March 1915.

Wounded in head Battle of Somme 5 July 1916.

Returned to France 3 November 1916.

Awarded Military Medal 6 June 1917 at Battle of Messines.

Wounded in Stomach Vimy Ridge August 1917.

Returned to France December 1917.

Taken prisoner of War 23 March 1918.

Repatriated from Germany 21 March 1919.

Discharged from Army June 1919.

General Service Medal

Victory Medal
