Peter's Story

Peter served in the Royal Marines Light Infantry during WW1.

Was demobbed in 1919 with an Exemplary Character and awarded the Victory Medal and the British War Medal. He returned to Oldham and his old job in one of the Cotton Mills.

His elder brother was Private Philip Hennelly of the Manchester Regimment and was killed in action on 6/7/1917 in France. He is buried in Grave 1.B.2. Ecoust Military Cemetery, France.

Enlisted in the RMLI 1915 - Ply1326-S Private. Served in France. Demobbed in 1919
