William's Story

William Fitzgerald was my great-uncle - my grandmother's brother. He was a member of the Royal Irish Rifles. He lived on Meeting Street in Dromore. He was killed within the first hour of battle on 1 July 1916. He does not have a grave. His name is on the Menin Gate memorial.
