A splendid young officer and beloved by all ranks and those that knew him.
His name is recorded on the Menin Gate at Ypres but as far as we know he has no grave.
William is my mother's half brother from my grandfather's first marriage. William's mother never got over the death of her only child and eventually drank herself to an early death in 1927.
