John and James's Story
I felt I should put my husbands two great uncles - James and John Rogerson, two brothers, (ages, 26 and 21) who were in the 17th Battalion, Highland Light Infantry into your record. They both were killed on the 1st July 1916 in France. Although we cannot seem to find any information on them, I cannot imagine how awful it must have been for their parents to receive the communication, that their two sons were killed on the same day. I hope one day to find out some information, records or photographs of them, so that generations of our family do not forget!!
