Tom's Story

He was reported missing, presumed lost in action at the Battle of Arras

Tom Brook was my grandfather's uncle and served in France from 1915 until April 1917 when he was reported missing, presumed lost in action at the Battle of Arras. He was 32 when he died. His name appears on the memorial in Arras on the wall of those soldiers with no known grave. He was a private with no exceptional record, yet he gave his life for his country; worthy of remembrance.
