Allan's Story
He was wounded at Ploegstreet Wood.
Private 43454 Allan Jackson was the only son of George and Annie Jackson of Fountain Street, Caistor, and served with the 11th Battalion in B Company. He was wounded at Ploegstreet Wood, Belgium, in August 1916. Allan died of wounds on 22 August 1916, aged 21, and is buried at Bailleul Cemetery Extension, Nord, France. He was much loved and is much remembered.
