John's Story

John was the son of Mary Ellen Hill and was born in 1878. He joined the army in the Royal Army Medical Corps regimental no. 53676.

He went to France in 1915 and as far as we know he never returned to England.

He was involved in the Battle of Arras and he died on the 16th May 1917 at the 41st Casualty Clearing Station. He is buried in Duisans British Cemetery, Etrun.
