Isaac's Story
Isaac was a coal miner who came to South Wales from Derbyshire, married and had three daughters. His youngest daughter was seven months old when he fought at the Somme and we don't know if he ever saw her. This daughter was my mum. I have a lovely embroidered card to her from daddy. My mission is now to find out, if I can, what kind of a man he was and what he looked like. Why did a married man with three children and a coal miner go to war? Sadly his remains are still on the Somme. He is commemortated at Thiepval.
