Albert Edward's Story
A very gentle man who always saw the best in everybody. Went to serve his country early signed up before the legal age.
He didn't talk much about his war years but I believe he survived a bullet wound.
He was sent back from the frontline by The Salvation Army because he was ill and when he returned his group had been wiped out so he always said The Salvation Army saved his life.
I think he was also the last man to endure gun carriage punishment in the British army but for what I'm not sure?
He had a kindly face and such a gentle smile with a great sense of fun and laughter.
A very lovely man I wish my sons could have met.
