Harold Percy's Story
He died aged 22 years on 9 May 1915 at the Battle of Aubers Ridge.
Harold Percy was my paternal grandfather. He was in B Company, 1st Battalion, Northamptonshire Regiment and died aged 22 years on Sunday, 9 May 1915 at the Battle of Aubers Ridge. Harold was the son of William and Mary Lizzie Patrick of Weldon Road Corby. He married my grandmother Ellen Draper of Kettering. My father Lawrence Raymond was born 18 May 1914, so he would have been one year old when Harold died. There is no known grave and Harold's memorial is remembered with honour on Le Touret Memorial, Pas de Calais, France.
