Sydney's Story

I never knew my Great Uncle, who like a lot of my family joined the colours to fight for our country. He served with the 10th battalion of the West Yorkshire Regiment (Prince of Wales Own).

He was killed in action on November 4th a week before the armistice and is buried at Nord, France. He was 24 when he was killed during the capture of Locquignol village.

Sydney was the son of George & Mary Ann Pemberton of Kirkstall, Leeds.
