George's Story
He died as a result of wounds received in action near Belle Alliance.
George was my maternal grandfather. He died as a result of wounds received in action near Belle Alliance (Ypres/Boesinghe) in April 1916 and is buried at Essex Farm Cemetery. My mother, his daughter, was born in April 1916. He never saw her. George was the father of six. The family are not aware of any photographs in existence.
