Albert Edward's Story
Albert died when his daughter Dorothy was only nine but she remembers sitting on his knee and him teaching her to sew on buttons and to make a five corner star with every star exact.
A thorough gentleman who fulfilled all his duties to family and country
He was an engineer by trade and a brilliant husband and father to five sons and two daughters, Albert, Thomas, Freddie, Harry, Ronnie, Gladys and Dorothy.
Albert contacted rheumatic fever whilst serving in the trenches and was invalided home. His health never really recovered but he had a happy life and died at the age of 52. He was much missed by his wife, Mary Ellen, and all his family.
We are all very proud of him.
