Albert's Story
Lance Corporal Albert Codling had joined the Lincolnshire Regiment prior to the outbreak of the First World War.
A member of the 1st/4th Bn, he was the son of Mr and Mrs J Codling, who, by the time of his death, had moved to Bourne in Lincolnshire.
He was killed in action on May 13, 1915, near Ypres and is buried at Lindenhoek Chalet Military Cemetery.

Additional information
Albert was born in 1892 and enlisted into the 4th Bn of The Lincolnshire Regiment as a Private in May 1912.
Prior to enlisting he was drayman with the Midland Railway.
Albert and his brother Ernest (killed 1917) are remembered on the Lincoln War Memorial.
