William's Story
My great grandfather was given 5 days leave for saving the lives of 2 soldiers. It was not until he got back to his own lines that he found out that one of the soldiers he saved was his own son  Lance Corporal RHP Turnbull.
Sadly, his son died from the wounds he received.
Whilst on leave in October 1916, my great grandfather was hit by a tram, had his skull fractured, and died.
