James's Story

My Grandfather joined the Seaforth Highlanders in 1905 and was later attached to the 2nd Kings African Rifles where he served in German East Africa. I believe he cotracted Yellow fever and died there ( date not known ), but I do know he is buried at Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. Four of his brothers also served in the Seaforths two of whom were killed.

I have no memory of my Grandfather as he died in East Africa.
