George William's Story
A man I never knew, and of whom I have learnt so much, a golf green keeper on Londesborough estate in the East Riding of Yorkshire before the war. George was in his forties when he went off to France leaving his family, wife Hannah, Children Violet, Nellie, George William Jnr, Edward, James, Robert Reginald and Cyril from what I know so far.
To a member of the family who never returned from France.
George died on the 11 02 1918 and is buried in Tincourt new British Cemetery in France Plot VA 13.
