Albert Gray's Story
He was classed as unfit to fight as he had a serious operation wound to his back. But signed on at the age of seventeen as a M/O To serve in the trenches helping to treat the wounded and the dying. He was released from duty at the end of the war. He served as a medical orderly at Eypres and Mons.
In the 1939-46 war he was drafted to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham and served as a nursing officer.Mainly treating victims of the blitz.
He led a good life afterwards and brought up his family. he died at the age of 90 years at Margate in Kent.
