My Great Grandfather - Lance Corporal John Henry Ford 3/3215 of the Essex Regiment was sent over to France to fight in the war. He was killed in action on the 26th August 1918 at the age of 37 years. His name is carved in stone at Dantzig Alley, Military Cemetery, France. He was the husband of the late Catherine Ada Ford (Morris) of 2 Dakin Street, Stepney, London IX N 8
