Thomas's Story
7416 Acting Corporal Thomas Morris was my father's cousin. He enlisted in the Second Battalion the South Lancashire Regiment in 1904 having previously served in the Militia. He served abroad from the 13 August 1914 and was wounded during the retreat from Mons on the 21 October 1914. He was sent home and after recovering from his wounds was sent to France on the 11 August 1915. Following a period in the trenches he was sent home and discharged unfit for army service on the 15 June 1916. We will remember him.
