James's Story

Like so many I have no memories of my Granddad but the most tragic of all, neither did my Mum. I visited my Granddad's grave in Belgium an honour my Mum never acheived.

Sadly we have no pictures only letters and documentation relating to his death. As we travelled around looking for the place where my Granddad was, I found it hard to take in the enormity of the visible loss of life.

My Granddad will always be remembered in our family as one of the many men who fought and died for his King and Country and at the end of the day the people they left behind where left to get on with life the best way they could.
