Cecil Francis's Story

Cecil Francis Deacon was my Great uncle. He was born in Heath, Derbyshire in 1897. His parents were Joseph Frank Deacon of Trowbridge, Wiltshire and Elizabeth Watson of North Wingfield, Derbyshire.

Cecil Francis Deacon was killed on 19/6/1917, age 20, in Ypres, Belgium. His details appear on plaque 52 of the Menin Gate Memorial in Ypres. He was a Private in the North Staffordshire Regiment (service No:23307). His home address was 10, Warner St; Chesterfield Derbyshire.
