Walter's Story
Walter served in the 4th/8th Hussars including a period in Lucknow India.
Walter died too young
He left the army in 1912 and became a postman in Cheadle Cheshire.
He was recalled at the outbreak of WW1 as he was on reserve and returned only to be killed in action in August 1914.
His body was retrieved by a french woman who had him intered in her family vault.
This lady`s husband was also killed during this conflict and the family were not financially able to maintain these graves, my Grandfather & Grandmother (sister) had him reintered into a British wargrave in 1936.
God bless all those who died.
