Joseph's Story
Grandpa Joe was initially in the 20th Hussars, but transferred to the Royal Fusiliers by the time he went to France on 2nd September 1915.
He was awarded the Victory Medal, the British Medal and the 15 Star.
However, I was shocked to see on his medal card "Deserted 14/12/17", but I later discovered that he had merely missed the train back to camp after leave!
