Harry's Story
I traced the actual memorial to Harry through the War Graves Commission and found the area where he was killed. My family decided to try to find it when they visited France. It was at Quinchy ? [ not quite certain of spelling]on Le Basse Road in France, where there is a large cemetery, my daughter found Uncle Harry's name on the memorial which was a very moving experience, she placed a red geranium in a pot at the foot of the plinth, and said a prayer from the family especially from my Mother who was in her late eighties when my family travelled to the memorial, too old to travel to France herself, but contented in the knowledge that a family member had seen where he lay, altho in a mass grave, he had died in battle. We have no other information to pass on sadly.
