John's Story

I don't know much about him but my nan said he was the only one out of his friends that joined up with him to come home alive. Although he was very badly injured, he had a hole in his chest you could fit your fist into. I am only assuming he was in the Manchester regiment because thats where he lived all his life. He would never talk much about it to his daughter my nana.

I don't really remember him but I'm told I would'nt be here without him. He could'nt walk or talk from a stroke, I was in a swing my mum went out of the room and I tried to climb out I almost fell on my head he stood up and screamed hey! and my mam came running just in time to catch me. I believe he is now my Gaurdian Angel. THANK YOU GRANDDAD.
