Donald's Story
I have photographs of 20-year-old Donnie in civvies and in his uniform. He was the younger brother of my maternal Grandmother. He went off to war aged 20 (my own son's age now) after joining the 9th (Glasgow Hds) Bn. Highland Light Infantry in 1914.
On 16th May, 1915 Donnie was killed in action at the Battle of Festubert aged 21.
