Frederick's Story
Pop was deeply affected by the war and never spoke of it until the day of his death.
Pop was injured in the war when a shell exploded nearby and he was saved by German medic. After the war Pop was awarded three campaign medals and a gallantry medal, but no one in the family knows why he received this medal. He went on to live a happy life, married, and had seven children and 22 grandchildren. We are still proud of him and honoured to have him in our family. Pop was deeply affected by the war and never spoke of it until the day of his death.
