Herbert's Story
He was awarded the Victory Medal and the British Medal.
Herbert Peatfield was my father. As far as I know he served at the latter end of the war in the Royal Field Artillery, reg no 161173, and was a gunner. He was awarded the Victory Medal and the British Medal. He also was in Germany after the war ended, why, I do not know; he never really spoke to me about his time in the war.
