Thomas Henry's Story

Tom was very young (too young) when he joined up.

Tom Boyles was my paternal grandfather, a small man with a very big personality. I never heard him talk about World War I, but then he never talked too much to me anyway (I was a girl and that just didn't seem right to him). He did talk to my dad (Gordon Boyles) who has unfortunately passed away too. I don't have a lot of information other than Tom was very young (too young) when he joined up, and that he had a Mons Star. My dad always had Tom's medals, but when dad died my mum gave his medals to dad's youngest brother. I wish I knew more about Tom, but perhaps there is someone out there who can add to what little I know.
