Henry's Story
He was a very tall man who was both gassed and lost an arm above the elbow during the iWW he was invalided out of the war because of his injuries. He died in 1974 having suffered ill health from the gas but my granny was refused a widows pension because they said he didn't die due to his injuries as too much time had passed.

My GreatGrandfather's name was also Henry Kirkham.
He was a rifleman in the RIR. He lost his left arm above the elbow in a battle after he came through the Somme.
He also died of ill health about 1974/75 in South Belfast. I wonder could there be some family connection?
