William's Story
He was killed during action in the German Spring Offensive near Arras.
William (or Billy) was a private in the Notts and Derbys Reg (Sherwood Foresters) 2nd Battalion. He was killed in action during the German Spring Offensive near Arras, on 23 March 1918, aged 19. He is commemorated on the Arras Memorial to the Missing. He was the younger brother of Alan Naden, who was also killed in action during the Battle of Cambrai, on 11 December 1917, aged 36.
