Harold's Story

He survived the war of all wars, and his medals ended up in the dustbin.

Harold Yates Peatfield was my uncle, he was a gunner in the RAF, reg no 5476. He was awarded the Victory Medal, the British Medal, and the 1915 Star. He survived the war of all wars, and his medals ended up in the dustbin. All I have of him is a photo, taken in his army uniform. I never knew him.
