Claude's Story
Claude was my father's older brother who died when my father Harry Reginald Cooke was 8 years old. Their mother was said never to have got over the death of her "brave little sailor". She gave birth to six children, of whom four survived. One was a baby girl who died in infancy. My grandmother died at the age of 94.
