George's Story
"Worthy of everlasting love"
Born 2 Feb 1879, Church Lancashire, son of James and Grace Leacy. He became a cotton spinner before spending time in the army, returning to the cotton trade in 1906. He married Grace Shaw 26 Apr 1902, Blackburn and 3 children followed - Grace (b.1906); George (b.1908) and Peter (b.1911). In Dec 1914 he was called up and served in Northern France during 1915 & 1916. He died of wounds on 29 Apr 1916 and is buried in Abbeville Communal Cemetery, France.
