Thomas Robert's Story
Halstead Gazette Newspaper 9th March 1917:
Mr & Mrs Tokley of Alexandria Rd, Sible Hedingham, Essex, have received information that their son Private Thomas Robert Tokley of the R.A.M.C. is lying dangerously ill, suffering from shell wounds. Previous to enlisting about 16 months ago he was employed as a Grocer's Assistant at Little Waltham. He has been in France eight months. Mr & Mrs Tokley have two other sons serving & another one on the point of joining up.
Later Note:
Private T. R. Tokley died from his wounds on Monday 5th March 1917. He is buried in Varennes Military Cemetery, France.
