Ernest's Story

He was shot and captured by the Turkish army on the banks of the river Jordan and was a prisoner of war in Affian Quarissa.

Ernie served in the 20th London Regiment and later transferred to the RAMC. His brother Alf served in India and was also wounded allthough I don't know how. Ernest died in Maidstone in 1957 aged 70. He left his wife Annie and two daughters and a son.
