Joseph's Story

Joseph Williams died on Tuesday 10th April 1917 during the battle of Arras. He was serving with the 10th Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment although he had originally been in the Worcestershire Regiment. His brother said that the family believed that he was killed by a shell from a short firing gun from his own side and that all of his unit died. Picture shows Joe in his wolfskin coat.
