william's Story
My grandfather was awarded the CROIX DE LA GUERRE in Paris on 30th April 1920 the citation is as follows :-
On the 20th July 1918 in the course of operations carried out with French troops on the Berzy front patrols and reconnoitering parties to guarantee the liason,collecting together also,sections dispersed by bombardment.He displayed remarkable initiative,spirit and endurance.He wasa fine example of courage and contempt for danger.
A very strong minded caring grandfather who knew no fear.
