Stanley John's Story

Born in Torrington Devon in 1893 the family eventually moved to South Wales where aged 21 he enlisted in Cardiff into 1st Battalion Welsh Guards.

Sent to France and Flanders theatre of war where he was promoted to Corporal, and during one of the many campaigns was awarded the Military Medal.

On the 6th November 1918, aged 25, he died of his wounds received in battle.
