Benjamin Michael's Story

My grandfather was in aheavy gun artillery garrison. On his 2nd posting to France he was wounded by gas inhalation. That happened on 3/9/1915. He was awarded the 1914star campaign medal with clasp, and the BW & V. Medals. His discharge papers had his character as "Very good. Athoroughly sober, steady and hardworking N.C.O. Honest, reliable and trustworthy."

I never met my grandad as he died 14/3/1943 partly from the gas he inhaled on the 3/9/1915.
