George's Story

George Folly died close the Paschendale on the 14th October 1918. So close to the end of the war. George served in the 12th Battalion of the East Surrey Regiment after enlisting at Kingston in 1915. George was colourful character and was in trouble many time during his service.

George Folly is bured at DADIZEELE NEW BRITISH CEMETERY in Belgium. A small cemtery not too far from Ypres and the Menin Gate.

George was not married but left behind his parents and 6 siblings. He was my Great Uncle.
