Matthew Leng's Story

As a child I had a vague recollection of being told that a member of the family had died in WW1, but no details of who or where.

When recently researching my family history, I discovered that it was my great uncle, Matthew Leng Shutt. I found it very emotional when I visited the National Archives, and was able to view his miltary service record. From those records I could see that he had no children, so I am very proud that on the 90th anniversary of the end of WW1, I am able to honour my great uncle's name.
