Private 13472 Michael Allen was on the troopship SS Royal Edward which was torpedoed and sunk in the Agean Sea heading into the Dardenelles on Friday 13 August 1915 of 1600 souls on board 1000 were lost.
His name is recorded on the Hellas Memorial in Turkey
